PC Lab and Printing Services

Computers

A total of 35 computers are available in the library. There are 18 PCs in the computer study room; the remaining 17 PCs are located in the red study room, the blue study room gallery and the blue study room.

  • Users from CU FA (students and employees) log in to the computer using a combination of university login (not the user number) and password. If you need to remember your university login, use the login search engine in the CU Central Authentication Service.
  • External users do not have their own computer account. They must be logged in to the computer by the librarian after they prove they have a CU external service user card.

If you need to remember your university password (same as for SIS), contact the service in the PC study room or the library loan desk.

Prepaid eResources can be accessed from all computers located in the library. An overview of subscription resources and a direct access link can be found on the CU eResources Portal. If the eResource you want does not support direct access, you must log in with your university credentials.

Terminals

Terminal PCs are located near the loan desk, in the red study room open shelves section and in the computer study room, from which you can access the UKAŽ discovery service and manage your passwords in CAS. These computers cannot be used for anything other than for these purposes.

Copy and Print Services

The computer study room has 3 self-service multifunctional machines for printing, copying and scanning. All printing services require a CU user card (ISIC, ITIC, etc.) loaded with the appropriate amount of money. The charging machine is behind the door to the PC Lab. Credit charged in any of the CU refectories (meals) cannot be used for printing. All information about printing services can be found here. At myq.ff.cuni.cz, you can manage your print jobs after logging in (just like on a PC), send files for printing from your own devices or top up your print credit without cash. Basic printing operations are explained in the instructions located in the PC Lab. If you need help with what to do, contact the service at the counter.

Printing services for the entire CU FA, including the library, are contractually provided by the company KYOCERA Document Solutions Czech s.r.o. The library bears no responsibility for the quality and reliability of these services. The service in the PC study room provides readers with assistance in the basic operation of printers. In the event of a printing service outage, the library only forwards information to the contact person for printing matters.

Wi-Fi Connection

  • The secure university-wide Eduroam network covers the entire area of the faculty. Find information about connecting to the Eduroam network here or contact the service in the PC Lab.
  • The library space is also partially covered by the FFree network (no password required).
