The Interlibrary loan (ILL) service allows internal users of CU ARTS (employees and students of the Faculty) to obtain documents that are not in the collection of the CU ARTS Library, from libraries outside Prague in the Czech Republic, or from libraries abroad (international ILL).
Documents borrowed via ILL and international ILL are intended solely for in-house study in the study rooms of Jan Palach Library. On your request, the requested documents may be delivered to another departmental library at CU ARTS for in-house study. Books are tranferred to the departmental library by an the employee responsible for the ILL and international ILL service (not by the user).
The provision of ILL is regulated by Charles University Library and Circulation Rules.
Jan Palach Library provides ILL and international ILL for internal CU ARTS users. Requests for foreign publications/documents are handled through the National Library of the Czech Republic, which has three months to process the requests. Requests can be cancelled at least two working days after their submission by e-mailing mvs@ff.cuni.cz. Payment must be settled even for document requests that are not cancelled in time.

Currently, only copies of documents are subject to a fee for ILL; the fee depends on the price list of the library providing the copy.
CU ARTS users cover in full the cost of the requested services after an employee of the CU ARTS Library has informed them about the incoming documents, i.e., by cash deposit or by bank transfer.
