About the service

Don’t want to take your laptop to university or can’t afford one? Borrow a laptop from the library using the self-service loan system or in person at the loan desks of participating libraries.

General conditions

• The service is intended for CU FA students (not for internship students or students and staff of other CU faculties) who are registered users of the CU FA Library. Students can borrow a laptop for up to 14 days.
• A single user can borrow up to one laptop at a time.
• Before the first loan, you must familiarize yourself with the full text of the contractual terms and conditions and sign the framework loan agreement with the staff at the loan desk of the Jan Palach Library; with self-service borrowing, you must also familiarize yourself with the instructions for using the self-service checkout (see below). The instructions are also printed and displayed in a visible location right next to the terminal of the self-service system.
• We also lend the charger and the basic protective case separately at the loan desks of participating libraries. A late fee for a laptop not returned on time is 100 CZK/day.
• Laptops loaned through a self-service loan at the Jan Palach Library must be returned in the same way during the library’s specified opening hours.

• ℹ️ The MS Teams and ZOOM Video conference tools can be installed manually by the user:

Loan agreement

To use the laptop loan service (self-service and non-self-service in selected libraries), you must familiarize yourself with the terms and conditions and agree to them by signing the contract at the loan desk of the Jan Palach Library. Tthe full text of the agreement is available here.
