Charles University or individual faculties purchase a large number of bibliographic and full-text databases with the support of the CzechELib project. See the overview list of databases that can be used in 2024.
For 2024 we have several databases newly available. In this post you can find information about Oxford Music Online, Thesaurus Linguae Latinae, Online Egyptological Bibliography (OEB), Thesaurus Linguae Graecae and Oxford Bibliographies in Chinese Studies.
We currently have active trial access to four eResources. Specifically, the scite_ tool, the Policy Commons: Global Think Tanks database and Korean databases KRpia and DBpia. More information on each eResource can be found in this post.
Dear readers, due to the tragic events of December 21, 2023 in the main building of the Faculty of Arts, the faculty management has decided to make the following changes in the operation of libraries and library services (please click on this post to view the full text).
As mentioned in the previous post, the libraries on the main building still remain closed. From January 3, laptops and loans from the main building can be returned to the Celetná Library, which will have extended opening hours (temporarily) (Monday–Thursday: 9 am – 6 pm, Friday: 9 am – 2 pm.)
Due to the recent tragic events, a dean’s leave was announced until January 2, 2024. Therefore, ALL libraries in ALL buildings will be closed until and including January 2, 2024.
Libraries located in Celetná, Šporkův palác and Na příkopě will reopen for readers on January 3, 2024.
However, all libraries in the main building will remain closed until further notice.
Personal belongings left in the premises of the main building of the Faculty of Arts on J. Palach Square will be distributed (against signature after verification of identity) today, i.e. on Saturday, December 23, 2023 in the building of the Faculty of Law of Charles University, nám. Curieových 7, from 8.30 a.m. to 8 p.m. For organizational reasons, please pick it up (if possible) during today. For more information open this post.
No words or actions can express the grief we feel. We express our deepest condolences to all those affected by the tragedy.
It is just a little help, but the loan period has been extended to 15 January 2024. Please do not hesitate to contact your library if you still need to adjust the term for returning or anything else from the library service; CUNI Libraries will be as helpful as possible.
