The Institute of Phonetics Library at the Faculty of Arts is the only specialised library in the Czech Republic focused on speech science. It is located on the Institute of Phonetics premises in the CU FA’s main building.
The library collection contains books on phonetics and speech science in general (production, perceptual and acoustic properties of speech, phonology) and from a more interdisciplinary point of view (border disciplines such as psycholinguistics and sociolinguistics, speech acquisition in the mother tongue and foreign languages, forensic phonetics, speech technology, rhetoric, discourse analysis or conversational analysis) as well as the phonetics of individual languages with the main focus being on the Czech language.
In addition to books, the collection also includes journals or conference proceedings.
