On Sunday 14 December, from 4 am to approximately 6 am, maintenance will be carried out on the ProQuest Ebook Central platform. During this time, no content on the platform will be accessible.
For technical reasons, this downtime will not be reflected by hiding affected e-books in the UKAŽ discovery system. If you need access to a specific title during the early morning maintenance period, you can download the book or chapter in advance (if a download option is available).
Until 24 December Charles University has a trial to the Drama Texts Collection database. This database provides to over 6,000 texts of dramatic works in English, along with related ephemeral materials, theater flyers, theater diagrams, and photographs. The Drama Texts Collection includes all dramatic texts from the Alexander Street and Chadwyck Healey collections.
Until 31 December, Charles University has trial access to 28 encyclopedias and encyclopedic databases from Brill.Access to the databases is available via the eResources Portal. Until 2 December, CU has trial access to the APA PsycBooks and APA PsycTests databases from the American Psychological Association.
PsycBooks offers over 4,600 books, including reference works and classic titles; PsycTests provides thousands of psychological tests, measurement tools, and questionnaires with detailed information on methodology and validity.

Lean Library is a browser extension that detects whether the university provides access to the article or e-book you’re looking for and automatically offers login via EZproxy or another available access option (including print alternatives available at Charles University). The extension is useful both on and off the university network – for example, when searching for articles through Google, Google Scholar, or directly on publishers’ websites.

From the evening hours of Friday 11 July to Sunday 13 July (inc.), there will be an outage of the library systems due to server migration. The following systems will be out of order: UKAŽ, the eResources Portal and the Electronic application for the use of the CU libraries services.
CU has trial access to Project Syndicate until 16 May. Project Syndicate, an international media organization, publishes and shares commentaries and analyses on important global topics. It posts and shares commentary on many topics, including economic policy and growth strategies around the world, human rights, Islam, and the environment. Access is through the eResources portal.
Until 28 February, CU has trial access to the Encyclopedia of Greek Language and Linguistics Online. The Encyclopedia provides an authoritative and comprehensive treatment of all important aspects of the language throughout its 3,500-year documented history, offering a systematic overview of the language at all levels and from many different perspectives and theoretical traditions. It is accessible through the eResources portal.
