Charles University will launch the Student and employee identity card portal on 18 January. You can easily renew your ISIC, ITIC and ALIVE licences online, order a new CU card or deactivate/activate your card. We would like to remind our users that you still need a physical plastic card to use the services of the FA libraries. However, it is not necessary for the physical card to have an up to date validity.
Until 31 November 2025, CU FA has access to 436 Area Studies titles from Taylor & Francis. For a list of titles, click on the post. Titles can be browsed via the UKAž central discovery service.
All CU FA libraries will be closed from Monday 23 December 2024
to Friday 3 January 2025. During this period, we will also not be processing requests for Demand Driven Acquisition (DDA) documents from the “ProQuest Ebook Central: Perpetual, DDA and Subscription Titles” collection.
On Tuesday 22 October, all CU FA libraries will be CLOSED due to the Dean’s Sports Day. In addition, office hours of the Centre of Scientific Information (SVI) will be cancelled.
On Monday 28 October, the Independent Czechoslovak State Day, all CU FA libraries will also be CLOSED.

During summer the opening hours of the CU FA libraries will vary, so please always check the opening hours before visiting.
This year we’re going to be changing the loan period over the summer. This year it will not be possible to have books at home for the whole summer, as in previous years, but the same loan period will apply as during normal operations. You will still be able to return books to the book drop box in the respective building.
