All CU FA libraries will be closed from 20 December to 4 January.
During this period, we will also not be processing requests for Demand Driven Acquisition (DDA) documents from the “ProQuest Ebook Central: Perpetual, DDA and Subscription Titles” collection.

Until 31 December, Charles University has trial access to 28 encyclopedias and encyclopedic databases from Brill.Access to the databases is available via the eResources Portal. Go to The trial includes the following encyclopedias and encyclopedic databases, primarily in the fields of theology and Asian studies:

Until 2 December, CU has trial access to the APA PsycBooks and APA PsycTests databases from the American Psychological Association.
PsycBooks offers over 4,600 books, including reference works and classic titles; PsycTests provides thousands of psychological tests, measurement tools, and questionnaires with detailed information on methodology and validity.
Access to the databases is available via the eResources Portal.

On Monday, 17 November, a public holiday, and on Tuesday, 18 November, during the Dean’s Sports Day, all libraries will be CLOSED.

Lean Library is a browser extension that detects whether the university provides access to the article or e-book you’re looking for and automatically offers login via EZproxy or another available access option (including print alternatives available at Charles University). The extension is useful both on and off the university network – for example, when searching for articles through Google, Google Scholar, or directly on publishers’ websites.

The Jan Palach Library will be open on Monday, 27 October, from 9 am to 5 pm.
On Tuesday, 28 October, a national public holiday, all CU FA libraries will be CLOSED.

From 14 to 18 July, a large international conference will be held at the CU FA main building, and to ensure safety, the management of CU FA has taken several precautions. On these days, the public will not be allowed to enter the main building.
Students and employees are not subject to this restriction, but they can be asked by security staff about the purpose of their visit. Therefore, students and staff must carry their student and staff ID cards with them when entering the building.

From the evening hours of Friday 11 July to Sunday 13 July (inc.), there will be an outage of the library systems due to server migration. The following systems will be out of order: UKAŽ, the eResources Portal and the Electronic application for the use of the CU libraries services.

On Tuesdays 10 and 17 June, one of our collections will be relocated. As a result, we expect there to be increased noise in the Red Study Room and PC Lab between approximately 10 am and 5 pm. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding!
