Only full-time students, Ph.D. students, and members of staff from the CU FA can borrow e-readers, tablets, and other electronic devices from the FA Library. It is therefore not possible for students, Ph.D. students, and employees from other CU faculties or Internship students to borrow electronic devices from the CU FA Library.
The conditions for borrowing electronic equipment are governed by the valid Rules of Operation and Organisation of the Library of the Faculty of Arts of Charles University, and the Civil Code.
Electronic devices are loaned for a standard period of two weeks. The responsible librarian can set a longer loan period, depending on the number of people interested in borrowing. Loans for an e-reader or tablet are registered in the library system, and overdue fines are 100 CZK/day.
Jan Palach Library offers the possibility to borrow e-readers, tablets, touch pens, and wireless keyboards (the list of devices can be found here).
The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies Library offers the possibility of borrowing e-readers (Nook, PocketBook).
E-readers and tablets can be found in the UKAŽ discovery service by searching for the term “čtečky elektronických knih FF“. You can pick up your preferred electronic device from the library of your choice. If the device is on loan, you can request it the same way as any other document.
