Change to Loan Periods After the End of Affiliation with CU

Dear readers, please take note of the following information regarding the change to loan periods after the end of affiliation with CU:

This month, a change to loan periods is being introduced for users whose affiliation with Charles University (CU) ends (e.g. due to graduation or the termination of employment).

Once your affiliation with CU ends, all active loans will automatically be shortened to 7 calendar days. Before the end of this period, borrowed items must be returned. Libraries will no longer be able to renew these loans.

During these 7 days, you will still be able to log in to your library account via the UKAŽ Central Discovery Service and check your current loans.

This change also applies to graduates who plan to continue their studies in a follow-up degree programme. A period without an active affiliation with Charles University may arise between the completion of one degree programme and the start of another. In such cases, your loans will also be shortened to 7 calendar days.

If you wish to continue using Charles University library services after your studies or employment end, you will need to obtain a CU External Service User Card at one of the Card Service Centres.

Thank you for your understanding!
