Summer opening hours and loan period

Dear readers, please take note of the following information regarding changes to opening hours and loan periods in the CU ARTS Library branches:

From 29 June to 4 October, the opening hours of the CU ARTS libraries will change. Before visiting a library, please check its current opening hours on the Opening Hours page.

Please note that opening hours displayed on other platforms (such as Google Maps, Facebook, etc.) may not always be up to date. The CU ARTS Library cannot guarantee the accuracy of information published on third-party platforms.

As in previous years, the loan period will remain unchanged during the summer and will be the same as during the semester. The only exception applies to items borrowed from the Jan Palach Library, which will be automatically extended by the duration of the library’s summer closure (1–31 July).

Books borrowed from closed libraries can always be returned via the book return box located in the respective building. Returned items are usually processed on the next working day. More information about book return boxes and their locations can be found on the Loan Services page.

From 22 June to 31 July, the service allowing users to pick up requested items from libraries located in the CU ARTS Main building at the Jan Palach Library will be temporarily suspended. During the summer closure of the Jan Palach Library (1–31 July), documents obtained through Interlibrary Loan (ILL) will be available for study in the Historical Cabinet (2nd floor, room 203).

If you have any questions or encounter any difficulties, please contact the library concerned.
